I began surfing in 1969-70 and began surfing seriously in 1976. 

In college, I was a member of the men's swim team; swimming the 500 yd, 1000 yd and 1650 yd freestyle events.  My favorite times in college were while playing on the men's water polo team. 

After graduation from the School of Business at the University of San Diego, I began my career in real estate to support my surfing chemical dependency.  I worked as a Real Estate Appraiser with TRW Real Estate Services and eventually as a mortgage loan officer for Barclays Bank LLC.

Swimming on a colligate swim team and water polo team gave me immeasurable courage surfing in large surf so that is what I sought out to do. 

I competed in NSSA, WSA and some local contests with a wide range of results.  I also became interested in lifeguarding, first-ad, Water safety instruction and became a certified EMT-I.

Sorry No Children Under 18 years old

Ocean Lessons will only be conducted during safe sized surf!  We usually will know within 48 hours of your lesson.  There is no time limit or calendar date in which you must finish you surfing lessons. 

If the surf is too big, the Lessons will be conducted on the beach.  If this is the case, the student, at their option, will be given the option of rescheduling or obtaining a credit for the lesson with No Questions Asked!
